It doesn't actually count as getting through the mail filter if the spam only contains long sequences of letters that don't actually form words.

They add noise to your nicely trained filter and so increase their chances of getting real spam through to you again. Note that there isn't even a url included in these kind of emails.

I'd honestly feel better if they were trying to do something rather than accidentally sending vast streams of crap into my inbox.
